Wilderness Unbuilt Norcal 40A QRP Transceiver KC1 Rutledge Electronics of Radio

Up for sale is an extremely rare unbuilt Norcal 40A transceiver by Wilderness Radio. The radio has been discontinued and is no longer available. Included with this lot is the companion KC1 Keyer Frequency Counter kit, along with the brand new front replacement panel. (When you add the Keyer/Counter to the Norcal 40A it gives you new features and buttons, so Wilderness sold the KC1 with a replacement panel.) Also included with this lot is the book "The Electronics of Radio" by David B. Rutledge. The radio, keyer/counter and book are old brand new old stock. New, open box.
Rutledge wrote the book for an Electrical Engineering class at Stanford. The Norcal 40A accompanied the course. Students went through the book and used the radio as a living laboratory to teach them many of the principles of radio.
The Rutledge book is still available. But the Norcal 40A is no longer made, so an unbuilt kit is very desirable for anyone who wants to go through the course. I had hoped to go through the book some day, but just haven't found the time. So it's time to find a new home for this jewel.
