    Description

    This listing is for a used Kenwood TS-711A 144 MHz 2m all mode (FM, USB, LSB, and CW) transceiver. It only has slight cosmetic blemishes on the top area where it looks like someone wiped it with a strong chemical. Inside it looks like new, no dust, no leaky caps, and the power supply has recently been serviced and recapped and the CMOS battery has been replaced. Due to the age of vintage electronics, the radio transmit does drift slightly (5 to 10KHz on FM) after lots of use when it gets hot (could be alignment issue or in need of a mod to make the fan run constantly, common issue with this model and the 811a). Only drifts after 30-45 minutes of steady transmitting and receiving. Transmit and receive is strong and clear. All buttons and display work as expected.
    The original power cord is included, but I don't have the mic or manual. I will include a 4 pin Cobra to 8 pin Kenwood adapter so you can use any standard CB microphone on this radio. I tested it with my Kenwood desk mic from my TS-440S Base (not included). I took pictures of my wattmeter to show FM and USB output, meter is also not included. Anyone with a vintage TS-440 or 140, this radio makes an excellent companion to your station! As side note, it does have FM repeater split, but does not have the optional tone board installed.
    The shipping is calculated by the item's actual weight to your ZIP code. You can choose between UPS Ground, FedEx Ground or USPS Priority Mail. I will only ship to the 48 lower US states due to the weight and age. This radio has an internal power supply so it is quite heavy, it's almost 20 pounds! I guarantee this radio works out of the box, but I am selling it "as-is" with no warranty implied due to it's age.
