Description

Edward M. Kennedy typed letter signed, dated 1974, to the Kennedys' long time interior decorator, Robert T. Luddington, referring to a sandwich glass in the Kennedy compound at Cape Cod.
Written on U.S. Senate stationery, 6.5" x 8", Very Good condition.
Luddington played an integral role in the Kennedy story. From the National Park Service's website, "A History of 83 Beals Street":
"Mrs. Kennedy aimed to restore the home to how it would have looked on May 29, 1917, the day her son John was born. To direct the process she brought in her interior decorator, ROBERT LUDDINGTON, Director of the Interior Decorating Department at Jordan Marsh Company. Together they rooted through storage to find old family belongings, ordered reproductions of furniture, and advertised for antiques."
