    Redesignated the 118th Medical Bn when the 43rd Infantry Division was triangularized in 1942, this unit served in the Southwest Pacific during WW2, and was present in the Munda/New Georgia, Aitape landing in New Guinea, the Lingayen Gulf landing, and the long reduction of Yamashita's Shimbu Line in Northern Luzon in the Philippines.
